What is the story being replayed in your mind when it comes to exercise? If you’re interested in being your best self as a leader in your field, this is for you! You’re not expected to be “on” all the time, and yes, though you see yourself as a high achiever and rightfully very proud of what you’ve accomplished – you are going to have days when your energy is either low, or you’re off your game, AND THAT IS OK!
However, if you find there are more days feeling groggy, unmotivated and lacking the energy, then this might be the reminder and remedy you need.
So what if I was to tell you this solution is guaranteed to work, would you practice it? You know about the other obvious benefits that comes from exercising. You’ve have invested in it, but along the way may have forgotten about the value it delivers when practiced.
Yes, I’m talking about exercise, not for the reasons and benefits we are so familiar with. Here’s what 5 minutes of exercise can do for your brain.

Tips to get you started
- Find someone who will hold you accountable
- Start right after you read this – 5 mins
- Every time you visit the washroom – do 10 squats, push ups, or leg raise etc.
- Set your timer and do planks in your office for 5- 15 secs every hour and challenge yourself from there

Our lives are pretty busy right? Schedules are jammed packed with to do list, webex, conference calls, phone calls, texts, emails, business trips and dinners. The weekend rolls around and it doesn’t stop. Work like a beast 4 to 5 days a week, the chill and get re energized the rest of the week. Right! Great intentions, but how often are you experiencing that?
So how can we possible make room for what we really want? More moments of pleasure and enjoyment instead of feeling stressed and overwhelmed? You’re not the only one feeling this way. If most of your days you feel like you’re caught in a turbulent storm, it’s time you discover how to make room for what’s important to you! You can hit the pause button to catch a break, so you can enjoy your achievements and relationships minus the guilt and pressure, and not just on vacation but during every day of your life?
Possible? Very much so! Let me share with you three simple yet highly effective ways you can do that. The best part is, you can begin practicing it immediately and start experiencing noticeable results.
Effective way 1. PAUSE – There’s so many moving parts in our personal and business world. Sometimes we are misunderstood, come across as brutes and bitches, or appear dis-engaged. In our tired, hazed and overwhelmed state we are off point and can make poor decisions and unhealthy choices. In those moments, we practice PAUSE. Say it to yourself! Say it out loud! The next time you find yourself getting heated, irritated say PAUSE! It’s a powerful word that can help your busy world slow down – literally, and give you room to get clear, step back, re-evaluate and re-connect in a controlled present state.
Effective way 2. PRIORITIZE – What must be done today? What can you clear from your calendar or delegate or politely say no to? Grab a pen and paper and write it down. This simple exercise will produce amazing clarity and relief – trust me on this.
Effective way 3. EASE – Begin your day with EASE, it’s like a slow release vitamin that will keep you centered throughout your day. Rise 20 – 30 minutes earlier to either get in an intense workout, (yes you can achieve more with an intense 15 min workout, than a 45 min moderate one), or meditate or do both. 20 min workout, 10 min meditating. Take a shower, and think about what you’re thankful for. Have a balanced breakfast of protein and complex carbohydrate, and get ready for a successful day! You will be more in control and clear, compared to starting your day scrambling and rushed.

What are you allergic to?
And the first word that probably comes to mind is peanuts, bees, or work☺.
First let’s define allergy.
An allergy is when your immune system reacts to a foreign substance, called an allergen. It could be something you eat, inhale into your lungs, inject into your body or touch. This reaction could cause coughing, sneezing, itchy eyes, a runny nose and a scratchy throat. In severe cases, it can cause rashes, hives, low blood pressure, breathing trouble, asthma attacks and even death.
In other words, an allergy is an intolerance to something that can harm you. When I was initially diagnosed as being allergic to peanuts, I was in denial first, then angry, sad and finally accepted it after grieving for a longtime over the loss
Peanuts was one of my favourite protein snack, and I was diagnosed in the middle of training to compete in my first fitness competition. Luckily there were other alternatives and I adjusted.
Allergies can be deadly, however there are other allergies that we come in contact with daily, and unaware can impact our lives in a harmful way. I’m talking about the allergy of tolerance.
Yes, think for a moment about the things/people in our lives we’ve tolerated or presently tolerating? A familiar term is “put up with”. We’ve all walked down that road, and looking back wished we knew and did better.
One of my tolerance was putting up with a supervisor who made racist jokes around me. Eventually I quit the job – back then I was unprepared to deal with ignorance like that.
If the thing/person we’re tolerating is affecting us negatively, we have to take action if we want to get better results. Please hear me, don’t continue to sit in tolerance when you have the power to make a positive difference.
1. Are you tolerating bullshit from an abusive relationship at home or work?
2. Are you still tolerating the self inflicting pain of past hurt?
3. Are you sitting by watching someone else being bullied or abused and do nothing?
Whatever it is you’re tolerating that isn’t serving you then I strongly encourage you to make the decision and take action.
Here are some ways you can benefit from developing intolerance:
* You develop a deeper awareness on what has the potential to bruise, or poison your being
* You feel better, and that improves your health
* You take your power back and become empowered to take a stand for what’s right for you and others
* You contribute to a healthier community
* You improve your outlook and quality of life
