In part one I shared about the need to have our attitude and thinking re-adjusted a process that takes commitment, time and patience. The same practices we’ve applied to getting our bodies healthier are the same steps that apply here. It’s the workout of our minds.
You may be familiar with this statement “garbage in, garbage out”, which speaks to what we feed our minds. If we’re in the habit of feeding our minds with information which produce a negative impact, then our withdrawal will be the same. This explanation would invoke a common sense response of – “duh, that’s a no brainer.” However, how many of us purposefully do that? It is simple; if we want to make positive healthy withdrawals, then we have to make positive healthy deposits.
Another popular common sense statement that we’ve heard, spoken, or read, and maybe never really pondered the truth it contains – “what we feed will grow”. If we want to harvest tomatoes, we will obviously plant tomato seeds, not anything else, right? Right; yet when it comes to the most important area of our lives – the mind, we so often neglect to give it the best. OK, let’s break it down.
Awareness creates responsibility: We’re now aware of where we’re at and what we need to do to begin the change; you’re now responsible to do something about it.
Deal with the present – you know the cause of the no or negative deposits; now take pro-active steps to stop and or eliminate those bad seeds.
Begin making healthy deposits – begin to align yourself with people, materials, workshops, music, seminars, or shows that deliver healthy messages (you decide what is healthy and right for you) to assist you along this new path. You will begin to notice a positive difference in your attitude and thinking.
Start making healthy withdrawals– begin to apply those deposits regularly to your life and others. Build yourself up through self-affirming words, create your own life learning quotes, and apply the new enlightenment to your life and to your circle of influence.
You will soon notice the effects that a lack or, or negative deposits brought; which can sometimes result in a poor outlook, lack of energy and depression is exiting your life. You now have a brighter outlook, more energy, a healthier state of mind to move ahead with living a better life.
What have you done to apply healthy changes to the way you think?
To your health and enjoyment!
